How it works

From upload to paid download—three roles, one on-chain receipt per link.

What you are building

DecentraShare is a paywall for files: you set the price, buyers pay your wallet on Solana, and the server unlocks the download after memo verification. No platform balance, no custody.

It fits indie creators, workshop hosts, and anyone whose audience already pays in SOL—one URL per SKU instead of wiring a full cart.

  1. 1

    Creator

    Upload & set price

Connect your wallet, drop a file, and name a SOL price. The app stores the asset and returns a short URL with a link-specific id.

Each link is tied to your wallet address so you can manage it from My links.

  2. 2

    Buyer

    Pay with memo

On the download page, the buyer sends SOL to your recipient and includes the memo shown in the UI (decentrashare: + link id).

The memo is what lets the server match a transfer to this download—no accounts required.

  3. 3

    System

    Verify & unlock

The verify endpoint scans recent signatures for the right amount and memo. When matched, the gated download route serves the file.

Everything is inspectable: explorers show the payment; the repo shows the unlock checks.

Self-hosting

Operators need writable upload storage, RPC access, and a configured payout wallet. See the project README for environment variables and security notes—treat this as a reference app, not a battle-tested processor.
